Victor Martins, a French driver currently competing in F2, has moved from the Alpine academy to Williams’ academy.
Victor Martins joins the Williams Junior Team. The French driver, who is currently in his third season in F2, has left the Alpine academy to join the British team’s academy. This is a significant opportunity for the Frenchman, as he will be able to participate in some private test sessions, including a TPC test with the FW45 at Monza this weekend.

At the moment, however, F1 seems a distant prospect, but Martins, interviewed by the press, showed great enthusiasm about his move to Williams. Here are his words: “This is a new chapter for me, but my goal remains the same: to push myself to the limit, both as a person and as a driver, and to reach F1. Williams is an iconic team with an incredible history, and I am sure it is the best place to help me achieve my goals.”
The French driver then discussed his current objectives, starting with the Formula 2 championship. His statements were: “This year, I will focus on winning the Formula 2 drivers’ championship with ART Grand Prix and making the most of this opportunity with the Driver Academy, both on and off the track. I look forward to working with all the members of Williams to embark on this new journey together.”
Martins was welcomed by Williams’ Sporting Director, Sven Smeets, with the following words: “We are excited to welcome Victor to the Williams Racing Driver Academy. He has repeatedly proven to be a talented driver capable of winning championships. We will continue to support him in his development and look forward to seeing him progress with us.”
