Frederic Vasseur, Ferrari team principal, spoke to the press ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix.
Formula 1, after McLaren‘s dominant performance in the first two races, returns to the spotlight with the Japanese Grand Prix, the third race of the season and an important crossroads for Ferrari. The Maranello team didn’t start 2025 very well, with the only highlight being Lewis Hamilton‘s victory in the sprint race in Shanghai. However, the Chinese weekend is one to forget, given the double disqualification of both Ferraris during the race.

The key now is to bounce back, and the three consecutive Grands Prix will tell us a lot about Ferrari’s 2025 season. Frederic Vasseur is well aware of this, and ahead of the Suzuka race, he made the following statement: “The Suzuka circuit is a challenging one for both the cars and the drivers, who appreciate its iconic corners and technical complexity. Now more than ever, the entire team must stay focused on the goal of putting Charles and Lewis in the best possible conditions to maximize the potential of the SF-25, an aspect we have only been able to execute so far during Friday sessions and the Sprint in China.”
Fred then added: “In Formula 1, every detail is crucial: from preparing the weekend at the factory to adapting on-track to constantly changing conditions. Once we’ve optimized every aspect, we will have a clearer view of our level of competitiveness and what we can achieve in the race.”
