Christian Horner commented on Max Verstappen’s magnificent race, marking the first victory of the season for Red Bull.
Max Verstappen once again amazed the world, if there was still any doubt. The Dutch driver, at Suzuka, put together the perfect weekend with a legendary pole position yesterday and a spectacular race ahead of the two McLarens of Norris and Piastri. After the race, Horner expressed warm words for his four-time world champion.
These were the words of the Red Bull Team Principal: “What a race! What a brilliant drive from the front row, which secured Max his fourth consecutive victory here in Suzuka, for the team but also for our partners Honda, to whom we owe many thanks and gratitude for their support over the years. In fact, I believe the hard work was done yesterday. This can be considered one of Max’s best weekends of his career, one that highlights just how much of one of the best drivers in the world he is right now.
Suzuka is a driver’s track, and Max drove like a true driver. At the same time, credit must be given to the team of engineers who turned the car around after Friday and did their best to finish the job. Yuki also put in a solid performance. This track makes overtaking difficult, but he still gained ground, and I’m sure he’ll continue to improve as he integrates so well into the team.”
