The reigning world champion will make his track debut: he hasn’t fully recovered yet, but he will try to be at Lusail.

Everything is ready for the fourth round of the MotoGP season: riders and teams will hit the track at the Lusail International Circuit from Friday, April 11 to Sunday, April 13. One of the highlights of the weekend will be the return of Jorge Martin to the track: although he hasn’t fully recovered from his injury, he will start his approach to the Aprilia RS-GP in preparation for the Jerez race.

The news comes directly from the Noale-based manufacturer, which released a statement that begins as follows: “Qatar, April 8, 2025 – Aprilia Racing is preparing to face the fourth race of the season at the Lusail International Circuit with a full line-up: Jorge Martin, who returns to the track after missing the first three races due to injury, and Marco Bezzecchi, who aims to confirm his current form.”

The Madrid-born rider is now on his way to Qatar, but as usual, he will have to be evaluated by the MotoGP medical delegation to receive physical clearance to race.

There are positive signs that he will be able to get back on track, but as the new MotoGP number one has stated, the goal will simply be to finish the race: the seven fractures had a significant impact on Martin’s physical condition, and he will now need time to return to competitive form.

Jorge Martin’s Words

This is how the 2024 champion commented on his return: “I’m really looking forward to getting back on track, and I’m happy to at least try to race in Qatar. The goal will be to start building some confidence with the RS-GP25 and begin to ride. I don’t know how my physical condition will be, certainly not at 100%.

We’ll try to do our best and improve gradually. Physically, I’m not even sure I’ll be able to finish a race, but if we manage to, it will be a victory because it will mean I’m starting to recover. We need to take it step by step and try to get back to our level as soon as possible.”
