Max Verstappen, fresh off his first win of the season at Suzuka, is already looking ahead to the upcoming Bahrain Grand Prix.

Formula 1 returns once again for the second of three consecutive Grands Prix. This weekend, the Circus will land in Bahrain, following the preseason tests that took place a month and a half ago, where McLaren showed impressive pace. However, during the last Grand Prix, the two Papayas took a back seat to Max Verstappen, who built a sensational victory starting with an incredible pole position on Saturday.

The four-time world champion, currently second in the standings just one point behind Norris, shared his thoughts ahead of the Bahrain race. Here’s what he had to say: “Winning in Japan was a truly special moment for the team, a perfect way to say goodbye to Honda, with whom we’ve had an extraordinary relationship and many successes over the years. To win four consecutive times in Suzuka is something incredible, and it’s the perfect way to start this triple-header of back-to-back races. It was a huge boost for the whole team, and now we can approach the next challenge with more confidence.”

Verstappen then added: “Bahrain, historically, is a track that has suited us. It’s a technical layout with unique conditions due to the night race and the intense heat, which adds an extra challenge. It won’t be an easy race: we still have room for improvement, especially in tire management and finding that extra pace we’ve sometimes lacked at certain moments. It’s going to be a demanding weekend, but I always enjoy racing there. We’ll give our best to fully exploit the potential of our car and aim for another win.”
