Piastri, speaking right after the race, had this to say about his Grand Prix: “A great result, an incredible weekend that started with qualifying yesterday. Today we finished the job in style, and it felt great. I’ll never stop thanking the team for the car they’ve given us. It’s really amazing to drive on track, and I’m proud of what we’ve achieved this weekend. Bahrain is a very important race for us, considering our owners – it’s never really been a friendly circuit for us, so it’s great to get this win for the team.”

The Australian added: “I would’ve preferred not to have had it (likely referring to a safety car or interruption), but I was confident anyway – the pace was good. I was sure I could get a clean restart, and both Lando and I were on the right tyres. From that point on, things were pretty straightforward. You need to get a good start – that’s always a bit of a question mark – and I’m glad I managed it. It’s been a great weekend for everyone, and a great place to get it done. I’m sure everyone enjoyed it.”
