Gonzalez finishes third and secures valuable points for the championship standings, while Dixon throws it all away in the final laps with a dramatic crash.

Race Highlights

THE START – Gonzalez leads out of the first corner, followed by Dixon and Holgado. Disaster for Canet, who stalls at the start and drops to 14th, just ahead of Vietti. Senna Agius has an explosive launch, but is hit with a double long lap penalty on the second lap for a jump start.

During the middle phase of the race, Jake Dixon begins to lose pace and is overtaken by Holgado, Öncü, and Arenas. Meanwhile, Gonzalez holds position but can’t pull away, allowing a tight group to form in the fight for the podium. The comeback hero is Aron Canet, who keeps a consistent pace and catches up to Dixon.

Key incidents: Sasaki is the first to end up in the gravel, while Binder is forced to retire due to technical issues. Navarro briefly returns to the pits before rejoining the race.

Öncü appears to have better pace than the rest, putting half a second between himself and Holgado, though the latter struggles with tire wear and drops to fourth. Meanwhile, Canet is lapping under 1:58, closing right in on the race leader.

Plot twist in the final laps: Jake Dixon crashes and is forced to give up the Moto2 championship lead! As with Moto3, Qatar shakes up the pecking order in the intermediate class as well. A mistake from Öncü allows #44 to take over, and he gains even more points on the Elf Marc VDS Racing Team rider.
