Max Verstappen finished sixth in the Bahrain Grand Prix but remains just 8 points behind Lando Norris in the standings.
The Bahrain Grand Prix is in the books for Red Bull with both cars making it to the finish, but not without several issues—starting with tire degradation, which prevented Verstappen from doing better than a modest sixth place. Formula 1 is back on track immediately, and the upcoming race in Saudi Arabia represents a key opportunity for the four-time world champion to bounce back and potentially close the gap to Norris, who is 8 points ahead.

These were Max’s comments ahead of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix: “The weekend in Bahrain was quite challenging for us and didn’t go as we had hoped. A few issues held us back and there’s still a lot of work to do on the car to reach the level of competitiveness we’re aiming for. That said, last year Jeddah was a favorable track for us. It’s a high-speed semi-street circuit and a lot of fun to drive. Usually, tire wear is less of a factor on this track, which could work in our favor and give us more opportunities during the race.”
The four-time world champion then added: “This is also the last race of this early-season triple-header, so we’ll try to give it everything. Hopefully, we can find a good rhythm and get closer to the level of performance we showed in Japan. We know there’s room for improvement and we’re determined to take a step forward already this weekend. Every session will be crucial to putting together a solid package that allows us to fight at the front. The team is motivated and united, and we’re ready to seize every opportunity that comes our way in Jeddah.”
