Despite the rumors circulating in recent days, Andy Cowell distances himself from the Verstappen-Aston Martin speculation
In recent days, there has been growing talk of a possible future at Aston Martin for Max Verstappen. The rumors intensified during the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix weekend, fueled by uncertainty surrounding the world champion’s future with Red Bull. Putting an end to the speculation was Andy Cowell, team principal and CEO of Lawrence Stroll’s team, who addressed the matter during a press conference on the eve of the GP.

Cowell’s words during the press conference
The team principal of the Silverstone-based team made things clear, reaffirming full confidence in the Alonso-Stroll pairing: “We’re incredibly fortunate to have two highly experienced drivers already confirmed for the next two years. This means I can fully focus on improving the business and the craft of building a fast racing car“.
Despite some elements — such as the arrival of Honda and former Red Bull designer Adrian Newey — which could have suggested a potential interest in Verstappen, Cowell further strengthened his position: “What I’m saying is that my mind is fully occupied with thoughts on how to improve the company, so we can build a fast car for Lance and Fernando“.
Words that seem to rule out, at least for now, any scenario that could see Verstappen wearing the Aston Martin green.
