Frederic Vasseur comments on Ferrari’s qualifying session with Leclerc fourth and Hamilton seventh
Another mixed qualifying session for Ferrari, which—just like last week in Bahrain—finds itself dealing with very different performances between Leclerc and Hamilton. The Monegasque once again got the most out of the SF-25, finishing fourth, 0.376 seconds behind Verstappen, while the seven-time world champion ended up nearly a full second off the pace and a significant six tenths behind his teammate.

Frederic Vasseur, speaking to Sky Sport Italia, had this to say about Ferrari’s qualifying session: “You can always do more, but it’s clear we’re losing a lot of time in Turn 1. It’s an issue we’ve been carrying since the start of the weekend. We’re three tenths off pole, and we’re losing those three tenths right there.” . “It’s a delicate balance. If you push too hard on the out lap, you finish the lap with no grip. If you don’t push enough, you immediately struggle through Turns 1 and 2. The balance is fine, and that’s where we’re really suffering.” “.
The Frenchman added: “I’m disappointed. We’re not here to be three tenths off pole. We didn’t manage to put everything together, and that’s frustrating . The race is tomorrow, and here you can overtake. Things can change from one weekend to the next—just look at Verstappen, who struggled in Bahrain and is incredibly strong again today. . Yesterday the long run was too short to really judge. We only did one lap.” .
