A deeply emotional tribute for Francis and the Senna family: here’s the special gift the Pope once received
On April 18, 2019, St. Peter’s Square witnessed a moment filled with emotion and symbolism. Pope Francis received from the hands of Paula Senna Lalli, niece of Ayrton Senna, two meaningful gifts for the world of motorsport and Formula 1: a bronze sculpture and a helmet of the three-time world champion, who tragically passed away on May 1, 1994, in Imola.

“My Ayrton” — the title of the sculpture created by Paula, inspired by her grandmother Neyde Senna, Ayrton’s mother — was later placed on display at the Vatican Museums. A powerful gesture, just days before the 25th anniversary of Ayrton’s passing, connecting speed and faith, talent and spirituality, man and legend.
Today, April 21, 2025 — Easter Monday — silence has taken the place of words: Pope Francis has passed away. A figure who spoke to the heart of the world with humility, empathy, and courage has left us. A spiritual guide who broke boundaries, welcomed everyone, and stood present in the defining moments of our time.
The entire GPKingdom team joins the world in mourning the passing of Pope Francis. With deep gratitude for the legacy he leaves behind — and with the same spirit that guides us every day, one of pushing limits and inspiring new generations — we send our thoughts to those who feel this loss most deeply today.
