Frederic Vasseur responds to Lewis Hamilton’s outburst after the Saudi Arabian GP, where the British driver had effectively raised the white flag.
Ferrari stands with Lewis Hamilton 100%—even more than that. After the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, where Hamilton finished seventh, the seven-time world champion apologized to the team and fans, admitting defeat for the 2025 season. Too many adaptation issues and the lack of a real solution, combined with the significant gap to his teammate, led Lewis to make those statements. But Vasseur wanted to respond.

In an interview with F1 Planet, the Frenchman commented on Hamilton’s situation with these words: “I’ll be 2000% behind him; I’ll give him my full support, and we’ll get to work immediately to find solutions. Honestly, I’m not too worried. If you look at what he did in China, or what he did in last week’s race in Bahrain, or even in the first part of this weekend’s session, the potential is definitely there.”
Vasseur then went into more detail: “We just need to adjust the balance, because collectively we’re struggling with the balance of his car and how it’s working with the tyres. It’s a bit of a weak point, but I believe the car has potential, and we’ll work to fix it.”
