Lando Norris recently gave a revealing interview, addressing the criticism surrounding his numerous mistakes early in the season.
The McLaren driver is coming off a tough weekend in Saudi Arabia. After crashing during qualifying and starting 10th on the grid, Norris managed an impressive recovery drive to finish fourth. However, it wasn’t enough to retain his lead in the World Championship standings, which are now topped by his teammate Oscar Piastri, who holds a ten-point advantage.
While Piastri has claimed three wins in the last four races, Norris remains stuck at his season-opening victory in Melbourne. The British driver, who has made several mistakes so far in 2025, opened up about the start of his campaign: “I’m probably putting too much pressure on myself — not for any particular reason, not even for the championship or anything like that. I just want to do well. I want to be on pole, I want to win, I want to be perfect. But I think I need to accept that I won’t always be perfect. I make mistakes because I’m trying to be perfect, not the other way around.”
Norris continued: “I just need to relax a bit and believe more in my pace, because in every race this season, I’ve been the fastest. I truly believe I can win races if I give myself a better shot on Saturdays. It’s easier said than done, but that’s what I’m working on.”
