News from Imola: ahead of the Grand Prix on May 18, the statue of Ayrton Senna has been restored, following damage caused by exposure to the elements

Ayrton Senna, known as “Magic,” remains a legendary figure in the world of Formula 1. His bronze statue, located in the Parco delle Acque Minerali in Imola, is a symbolic pilgrimage site for F1 enthusiasts. Vandalized last December, the monument has now been meticulously cleaned and restored in anticipation of the upcoming Made in Italy and Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, during which drivers traditionally pay tribute to the Brazilian icon.

This year holds special meaning for local talents such as Kimi Antonelli, who, being from Emilia-Romagna, deeply understands the symbolic weight of the statue. Created by artist Stefano Pierotti, the monument had suffered from the natural wear caused by rain and wind. It has now been restored by Alessandro Rasponi, a local artist from Modena, together with Mauro Bandini.
