The news was reported by the British media outlet Autosport, which also stated that the Mexican driver has already arrived in the Florida city.
It seems, however, that Checo won’t be in the Miami paddock as a “mere spectator”: in fact, according to a report first published by The Times, the Cadillac team — set to make its grid debut in the 2026 season — has set its sights on the Mexican driver, who would certainly be an ideal profile for a new team thanks to his vast experience.
Moreover, in recent days, Cadillac announced that it will unveil its livery on May 3, 2025, during the Miami Grand Prix, in the presence of celebrities, IndyCar drivers, top General Motors executives, and—who knows—perhaps even Sergio Perez. “I think Checo is perfectly capable of returning and quickly adapting to the pace in a new team. Last year, he was sitting in one of the toughest seats in F1, next to Max.
