Ferrari, Hamilton: “I’m working hard to adapt, we’re trying to improve the car’s potential.”

Lewis Hamilton spoke at a press conference ahead of the Miami Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton was one of the key figures in the traditional Thursday press conference. In Miami, all eyes were on the seven-time world champion, coming off a lackluster performance in Saudi Arabia and, more broadly, a season start that has been far more challenging than expected. In the only sprint weekend of this season, the British lion made his mark with a pole position and victory in the Saturday race.

During the press conference, Hamilton reflected on the start of the season with these statements: “There are so many different things. When I drove for Mercedes, the first six months were tough — even the engineers have to get used to things. I’m trying to work hard to adapt. This weekend? I have no idea. We don’t have any upgrades, but we’ll try to optimize the car’s potential.”

The British Ferrari driver then added: “In the Sprint race you don’t make too many changes. The positive aspect was that we hadn’t changed much. In other weekends, we changed the car and the situation got worse.”
