Lewis Hamilton claimed his second podium with Ferrari, finishing third in the Miami Sprint Race.
Ferrari‘s Sprint Race didn’t get off to a good start, as Charles Leclerc crashed into the wall during the reconnaissance lap amid heavy rain. The Monegasque driver admitted fault, but the Scuderia’s decision to send its drivers out on intermediate tires in such extreme conditions has sparked debate. The race, however, brought a small consolation for Ferrari, with Lewis Hamilton stepping onto the third step of the podium.

A key decision came from Hamilton himself—to switch to soft tires—after struggling in the opening laps on intermediates. This marks his second podium in red, following his Sprint win in China. During the traditional post-race interviews, the British driver commented: “It’s been a tough season so far, but today I’m really happy with how things went. Of course, we weren’t expecting rain in Miami… but what a race it turned out to be!” “
Hamilton then added: ““I decided to pit, I was struggling anyway, and figured I had nothing to lose, so I took the gamble—and it paid off. Maybe if there had been a couple more laps, I could’ve given the McLarens a run for their money, but congratulations to them.” “.
