Jorge Martin is reportedly considering a departure from Aprilia Racing — and things are heating up in Noale.
The MotoGP paddock might be on the verge of yet another seismic shake-up: Jorge Martin could leave Aprilia at the end of the 2025 season, setting the stage for a domino effect that could reshape the entire MotoGP grid (and beyond, given Bulega and Razgatlıoğlu’s performances in WorldSBK).

The “secret” clause in the contract
According to reports, when Martin signed with Aprilia last year, both parties agreed on a clause that would allow the rider to leave at the end of the season if he wasn’t among the title contenders after the French Grand Prix.
And that’s where the issue lies: after six races, Martin has only competed in one, due to a string of injuries that kept him sidelined. Technically, this would trigger the exit clause, as he’s no longer in the championship hunt — at least for now.
Aprilia won’t stand by: “Ready to take legal action”
Aprilia, however, doesn’t plan to let this go quietly. Sources close to the Noale-based team claim the management is considering legal action against Martin, arguing the clause was based on performance — not injury-related absences. If the matter escalates, it could turn into one of the most complex and controversial legal cases in recent MotoGP history, as Martin endures a nightmare season between hospital rooms and legal battles.
Silly season is already in full swing: social media explodes with predictions
As expected, the rumor mill is already in overdrive. Among the wildest scenarios circulating online:
- Martin to Honda HRC to revive the struggling Japanese project
- A sensational reunion with Ducati, potentially teaming up with Marc Marquez
- A Marquez brothers dream team in Ducati Lenovo
- Bagnaia moving to Aprilia to join Marco Bezzecchi — a move that seemed like pure fiction just a few months ago
As MotoGP heads toward the heart of the season, tension is no longer confined to the track. The 2026 rider market is already on fire — and Jorge Martin’s future may be the key to unlocking it all.
