Minister Salvini Announces Additional Millions to Safeguard Imola and Monza in the F1 Calendar

More good news is on the horizon for Imola 2026 — and not only for Imola. While efforts intensify to secure the future of the iconic Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, which once again thrilled fans this year (SIGN THE PETITION LAUNCHED BY GPKINGDOM), significant attention is also being given to Monza. As many are aware, the rotation policy for European Grands Prix could affect the historic Monza circuit as well, potentially leading to the permanent exclusion of Imola from the calendar.

Government Funding for Imola 2026 and Monza Secured from 2026 to 2032

To prevent this outcome, and in addition to the strong commitment shown by the mayors of both municipalities and ACI (Automobile Club d’Italia), the Italian Government has stepped in. In a decisive move to safeguard Italy’s two F1 rounds for 2026 and beyond, the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo Salvini, announced the allocation of millions of euros to the two circuits. The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport released the following statement:
As part of the Infrastructure Decree Law approved today by the Council of Ministers, the Ministry has allocated €5.25 million for 2025 and €5 million annually from 2026 through 2032 to the national sports federation ACI, for the organization of Formula 1 Grands Prix held at the Monza and Imola circuits”.
