Charles Leclerc’s second-place finish marks the best result of the season so far for the SF-25. Here’s what Ferrari Team Principal Fred Vasseur had to say following the Monaco Grand Prix
A podium with mixed emotions. While this is Ferrari’s strongest result of the year—improving on the third-place finish secured in Saudi Arabia (ironically, on a track with completely different characteristics)—there remains a sense of regret within the team after the Monte Carlo weekend. On the narrow streets of the Principality, the feeling is clear: victory slipped away on Saturday by a mere 0.109 seconds.

That slender margin in qualifying was all that separated Charles Leclerc from Lando Norris—enough to hand the McLaren driver a crucial victory and deny the Monegasque what could have been a home win. Fred Vasseur, Ferrari’s Team Principal, addressed the outcome.
Vasseur’s words in Monaco
The Frenchman shared his thoughts on the performance of the SF-25 and Leclerc in Monaco: “On Thursday, we would have signed for second place. It’s true that after topping all the free practice sessions we were expecting more, and we were a bit frustrated after qualifying, but today we did our job. Overtaking was practically impossible “.

Vasseur’s analysis continued with a remark about Hamilton:”With the penalty given to Lewis, we only had one car to fight the McLarens, and that really put us on the back foot. Charles did an excellent job, he was consistent, always in the fight, but for us it was impossible to mount an attack “.
He also commented on the mandatory two-stop strategy during the race:
“Clearly, the two-stop rule allows for certain tricks (referring to strategies used by Visa Cash App and Williams), and I can understand the drivers’ frustration when they get stuck behind slower cars—it’s far from ideal“.
Finally, on car development:”From Spain onwards, a new regulation regarding the front wing will come into effect. We don’t yet know how others will perform under these new parameters. It could be a reset, but for now, we’re focusing on ourselves and improving performance in all types of corners. We’ve made good progress in high-speed turns. Updates? In Barcelona, all teams will bring a new front wing, and I believe it’s wise to introduce only that for now, to get a clearer picture “.
