Leclerc from Last to First in Monaco: The Stunning Virtual Feat by a YouTuber

A victory may be virtual, but it’s heart-pounding nonetheless: Charles Leclerc wins in Monte Carlo starting from last! Here’s where this “miracle” happened

Remember when we told you about Kimi Antonelli’s win at Imola in a mind-blowingly realistic SimRacing experience? Well, it just happened again — this time, possibly even better — with Charles Leclerc in Monaco.

In a breathtaking sequel once again created by YouTuber Smooth Sim Racer, the protagonist is now Charles Leclerc, living out the ultimate dream of every Monegasque: winning the Monaco Grand Prix. But not just in any way. In a hyper-realistic simulation using F1 25 mods and VR, Leclerc starts P20 on the narrowest and most unforgiving track on the calendar.

Bozzi warns him: “It’s going to be a tough race, Charles” — and he immediately overtakes Hulkenberg at Sainte Dévote. From there, the comeback begins.

The race turns into a weather-driven chess match. Conditions constantly shift: dry, then light rain, then heavy rain, and finally a drying track. While all the other drivers pit three times — switching from mediums to full wets and then intermediates — virtual Leclerc opts for a bold, genius strategy: just one stop, keeping the same set of intermediates during the most chaotic part of the race.

Amazingly, he survives the downpour in nearly undriveable conditions, helped by a perfectly timed safety car just as it seemed he might have to retire. That’s when Charles digs deep and reignites his charge toward glory.

The ending is pure adrenaline: Leclerc holds onto the lead with skill and grit (briefly losing it to Antonelli for a few laps), managing the race flawlessly all the way to the chequered flag. The simulation — enhanced with ultra-realistic audio, authentic team radio with engineer Bryan Bozzi, and visuals far beyond the actual game — stands out as one of the most immersive SimRacing experiences ever created.
