1. His contract runs until 2027 – but things are tense with Ducati…
Let’s be clear: this is MotoGP silly season speculation – we’re calling it a “dream” for a reason. No deal is in place and no official contact has been made. But things between Bagnaia and Ducati aren’t quite perfect anymore: Pecco hasn’t held back from criticizing the GP25, which has shown several weaknesses so far – as seen at Silverstone.
What’s even more telling are Dall’Igna’s recent words, claiming there are “no excuses” for Bagnaia’s dip in form. Ducati’s track record with stars like Stoner and Dovizioso shows the team isn’t always known for pampering its champions. And let’s not forget – sharing a box with Marc Marquez is no easy task.
2. Martin is out – a top seat opens at Aprilia
Jorge Martin will leave Aprilia, that much is certain. Even if the clause is no longer valid, the relationship has clearly broken down. Aprilia will lose their main rider, and a seat will open up for a true top-tier talent. CEO Massimo Rivola and his team would surely do whatever it takes to bring Pecco on board.
A 2026 deal seems unlikely, but 2027 is wide open. The upcoming regulation changes could reshape the grid entirely, and Ducati’s current dominance might be in real danger. Right now, a contract extension between Bagnaia and Bologna is more uncertain than ever.
3. Bez, Pecco, and Aprilia – an all-Italian dream team
Lastly, don’t underestimate the power of environment. What we saw at Silverstone – aside from Martin’s internal rift – is that Aprilia is a united team, capable of pushing through setbacks together. Just look at Bezzecchi’s victory: a team effort full of heart and resilience.
