2024 MotoGP World Champion Jorge Martin has spoken publicly for the first time in weeks, breaking his silence on both his physical condition and the contract rumors surrounding him. The Spanish rider appeared today at the Aprilia All-Star 2025 event at the Misano World Circuit, where fans, riders, and Aprilia enthusiasts gathered for a weekend of celebration. For Martin, it was a moment to smile again after a difficult period.

“It’s been two tough months after Qatar, plus another two at the beginning of the year. It’s been a complicated time,” Martin told Sky Sport MotoGP, confirming the physical issues that have kept him off the track. “This is the first time I’ve been back on a bike. I’m happy with how things are going and just trying to enjoy myself here at the All-Star.”
However, his recovery isn’t over yet: “I have a medical check-up tomorrow (today), but I still don’t know when I’ll be ready to return. I need to get back to 100% before I come back.”
Uncertain Future: “We’ve talked, now we’ll see”
The spotlight is also on the apparent fracture between Martin and Aprilia. After sharing stories on Instagram hinting at his intention to leave the team at the end of the season, speculation has only grown. Today, however, he didn’t completely rule out reconciliation:
“In the end, somehow the situation will be resolved. We’ve said what needed to be said, we’ve talked. Now we focus on this weekend and then, starting Monday, we’ll see what can be done.”

Despite the ongoing tensions, Martin received a warm welcome at Misano: “I was a bit afraid. I didn’t know what it would be like coming here,” he admitted. “But I was welcomed really, really well, and I’m very happy to be here.” “These days are about having fun” , he concluded.
