Another standout performance by Isack Hadjar in Spain: the Frenchman crossed the finish line in seventh place, once again ahead of Liam Lawson
An incredible seventh place. Six points added to the tally for VCARB (Visa Cash App Racing Bulls) during the Barcelona weekend—all thanks to the superb performance of Isack Hadjar, once again in the points and increasingly emerging as the leader of the Faenza-based team.

Following yet another remarkable qualifying session—where the Franco-Algerian driver secured a solid ninth place and advanced to Q3—Isack has once again confirmed his prowess on Saturdays. The head-to-head with Lawson now stands at a striking 6-1 in Hadjar’s favor, underlining the Frenchman’s growing dominance. Despite a disastrous start to the season in Melbourne, Hadjar’s talent is now fully shining through.
Strong in Qualifying, Solid in the Race: Is Hadjar on Red Bull’s Radar?
It’s not just about qualifying, though. After consistently proving his potential on Saturdays—often at the expense of Liam Lawson, who may still be reeling from his demotion from Red Bull—Hadjar’s race-day performance has also started to impress.

Out of the team’s total 28 points in the Constructors’ standings so far, a remarkable 21 have been scored by Hadjar, highlighting his strong race-day contribution. After his stunning sixth-place finish in Monaco, he followed up with another superb result in Catalonia, showing clear Sunday improvements.
As for the car, expectations around VCARB were undeniably high at the start of the season. Promising pre-season testing in Bahrain hinted at a potentially spectacular campaign. While the car has indeed shown impressive one-lap pace, it has struggled more during the races—collecting fewer points than it arguably deserved, not helped by some questionable strategic decisions.
Nevertheless, Hadjar’s performances have caught the attention of Helmut Marko and the Red Bull leadership. After facing sharp criticism for his crash in Melbourne and the emotional aftermath, Hadjar now seems to be on the radar once again. Despite earlier statements about retaining Yuki Tsunoda through the end of the season, sources close to the Red Bull camp suggest Marko could be considering promoting Hadjar to the RB21, possibly sending Yuki back to Faenza. Time will tell how the situation unfolds, but in Milton Keynes, they’re surely hoping this will finally be the right call.
