Formula 2 driver Arvid Lindblad went head-to-head in a sprint challenge against three football players
Arvid Lindblad vs. Wilfried Gnonto. A Formula 1 car against three of the fastest players from Leeds United. No, it’s not science fiction—this was the real-life showdown staged by Red Bull on the grass of Elland Road Stadium.

Behind the wheel was rising star Arvid Lindblad from the Red Bull Junior Team, currently competing in Formula 2. On the other side, he faced an explosive sprint challenge against three of Leeds United’s quickest athletes, including Italian international young star Wilfried Gnonto.
The Race: Football vs Formula 1 — an Unexpected Outcome
The race began with the footballers sprinting ahead while the F1 car struggled for grip, spinning its wheels on the slippery grass. In the first half of the race, the footballers gained an impressive lead of 4.5 meters.

But the Red Bull RB7’s power soon kicked in. Once Lindblad found traction, he rocketed past his opponents and crossed the finish line ahead of all three.
A spectacular challenge that brought together two seemingly distant worlds: racing and football. Red Bull, after all, owns the Formula 1 team and is also a minority shareholder in the English football club.
