The incident occurred during a test session, as the Italian crew was driving a Peugeot 208 Rally4. The vehicle veered off the road and violently crashed into a tree.

Co-driver Samuele Pellegrino managed to exit the car on his own and was transported to the hospital. According to Polish authorities, his condition is stable.

Sadly, despite the swift response of the fire brigade and medical services, all attempts to resuscitate Matteo Doretto were unsuccessful. The young driver succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
