Razgatlioglu to MotoGP, Bulega: “I’m not happy for myself”

It’s now official: the paths of the two title contenders are set to diverge. Here’s what Nicolò Bulega thinks about the Turkish rider’s move to MotoGP.

Some leave, some stay — but what will WorldSBK be like without the nail-biting duels between Bulega and Razgatlioglu? The rider from Montecchio Emilia has been putting on a show ever since his debut in the new category, especially after winning Race 1 in Australia last year.

From that moment on, the battles with the BMW rider from Turkey have only intensified. Last year, it was Razgatlioglu who came out on top, but this season, Bulega holds the upper hand. Unfortunately, the excitement these two rivals bring to the track will only last for another seven rounds.

At the end of the year, the current number #1’s move to MotoGP will close a chapter in the championship’s history. But what does Bulega think of this decision? Here’s what he shared in an interview.

Nicolò Bulega’s Thoughts

On Thursday at Misano, the Italian Aruba.it Racing Team rider said: “I’m happy for him because I think going to MotoGP is his dream, and I believe he deserves it. He’s been in WorldSBK for many years and has always performed at a very high level. I’m not happy for myself because next year I’ll lose a great rival. I enjoy fighting with him. Maybe another strong rider will arrive next year, but we’ll see.”
