Pecco Bagnaia is ready to bounce back at his home Grand Prix: “Three wins in a row here — I have the confidence to chase a fourth.”

There’s a strong sense of belief in Pecco Bagnaia’s voice heading into Mugello — partly fueled by signs of improvement in Aragón’s Sunday race, where he seemed to rediscover some feeling with the GP25. Now, at his favorite track, the Italian is aiming high once again.

Pecco Bagnaia’s words

Pecco Bagnaia’s words before Mugello: “Are the fans expecting a fourth consecutive win here? I do feel confident about continuing this amazing streak. But first of all, I think it’s great to come here at this point of the season. It’s true we were competitive on Sunday in Aragón, but my feeling doesn’t just depend on that race. We’ll see if I can immediately find the right feeling and setup from the very first sessions.”

“I know how important it is to deliver a great result here, and I’ll give everything. I can’t wait to start — I love racing at Mugello, seeing the fans, the crowd… it’s always magical. I’ll do everything to stay on Marc’s pace — he’ll surely be one of the strongest — and I’ll try to fight for the win.”

“The next two races, Mugello and Assen, are tracks where I’ve usually performed at a very high level. It’ll be crucial to be competitive, because if I’m not, then we’ll have to admit there’s a problem. The goal is to fight and try to come out on top.”

“I know I can’t go into these two weekends thinking about winning both, because Marc has been very strong this season and Alex has shown great speed too. But we must build from Sunday in Aragón and try to impose our rhythm, session by session. Brakes? Using the 355s here will be tough, so I’ll start with the standard ones and try to avoid issues.”

Pressure before Mugello? Bagnaia isn’t worried: Yes, I feel the pressure for this weekend — but it’s positive pressure, because it motivates me and pushes me to be competitive. We’ll try some things starting tomorrow and then see if we continue with that setup on Saturday and Sunday. We’ll need to take another step forward from Aragón, and I believe this is the right track to do it.”

On the latest transfer rumor: “Toprak? It’s a great time for him to come to MotoGP. Next year, he’ll have to adapt his riding style to these bikes. It’ll be interesting, and I’m happy to have him with us,” Bagnaia concluded.
