Charles Leclerc has spoken about the 2026 Ferrari project, also touching on the differences in driving style between himself and Lewis Hamilton

For years now, Charles Leclerc has been carrying Ferrari’s hopes on his shoulders. Despite underwhelming seasons, unfulfilled promises, and three different teammates (with a combined 11 world titles), the Monegasque has consistently given his all for the Scuderia, pledging maximum commitment even with a car that has rarely been competitive.

The 2025 car, the SF-25, has been a significant disappointment—especially following a promising start during free practice in Australia and the optimistic pre-season statements from Vasseur and the team. Despite the setbacks, Leclerc—supported at times by Hamilton—still sees potential in 2026, the year when everything is set to change with new regulations.

Leclerc’s Confidence in the 2026 Ferrari: “No balance issues”

While Lewis Hamilton has recently emphasized the “restructuring” taking place in Maranello—alongside confidential talks with Technical Director Loïc Serra regarding the 2026 car—Leclerc remains confident that Ferrari will finally find the balance in setup that has often eluded them.

Leclerc on the 2026 Ferrari: “Total freedom and all the technical tools to maximize the 2026 car”

Speaking to Speedweek.com, Leclerc commented on the importance of aligning car setups between teammates:
Balance? No, that doesn’t worry me. At Ferrari, we have all the tools we need to adapt the car to suit both my driving style and Lewis’s“.

I don’t see that being a problem next year. What matters is having the fastest car possible—and that’s exactly what Lewis wants, too. The way we fine-tune our race cars will naturally follow from that.

He concluded by adding:
It’s not like 10 or 15 years ago, when balance limits held back performance and there was no way to improve it. As drivers, we now have complete freedom and all the technical means to get the most out of the 2026 car “.
