It’s McLaren’s first Sprint pole of 2025 despite a dominant season, with Piastri leading the way ahead of Verstappen and Norris. Haas impressed too, with Ocon 5th and Bearman 7th, while Mercedes struggled: Russell will start 13th, and Kimi Antonelli is all the way down in 20th.
F1 Sprint at Spa: PENALTIES
UPDATE (SAT) 10:48 – The stewards’ VERDICTS are in: no further action for Gasly, while Russell receives a reprimand. Here’s the official statement regarding the British driver.
UPDATE 17:50 – Caution: Russell has been summoned by the stewards for driving too slowly on his in-lap. If the Briton fails to justify his actions properly, he faces a high risk of a penalty.
17:35 – At the moment, no drivers have received penalties for the Sprint at Spa-Francorchamps. The 20 positions remain unchanged.
