Cadillac has finally confirmed its lineup for its debut in Formula 1 in 2026 as the eleventh team on the grid. After rumors had practically confirmed Valtteri Bottas’ signing in recent days, unofficial reports now indicate that the American team has chosen Sergio Perez to join the Finn, closing the loop on the speculation of the past weeks that pointed to this very pair of former “number two” drivers for Hamilton and Verstappen.
Cadillac has decided to build its team around experience, focusing on drivers capable of providing technical and competitive support for the car’s development in the first years of Formula 1.
Bottas and Perez, Here’s When the Announcement Is Expected
After finalizing the details of the Bottas deal, which will be formalized during Zandvoort race week, the team has also decided to add Perez to the roster. He will return to Formula 1 after a one-year break, following in the footsteps of his Finnish teammate.
