Bad incident for Stroll in Turn 3: here’s all the updates
Lance Stroll suffered a heavy crash at Turn 3 during FP2 of the Dutch Grand Prix. The incident closely resembled Daniel Ricciardo’s 2023 accident at the same corner, which left the Australian with a broken wrist.
Fortunately, the Canadian walked away unharmed, but his Aston Martin was left badly damaged.
The Silverstone team was forced to replace the entire chassis, with the right-hand side heavily compromised. Mechanics worked late into the night to get the car ready for Saturday. Luckily for Stroll, there will be no grid penalty for the chassis change.

The crash came at the worst possible moment for Stroll, as Aston Martin impressed on Friday: Fernando Alonso emerged as the second force behind McLaren, inserting himself among Norris and Piastri. The Spaniard looked sharp and consistent, showing that the AMR25 has taken a real step forward—though matching McLaren’s pace in qualifying and long runs still seems a tough ask.
For Stroll, however, the Dutch GP has now become a real uphill battle: he’ll need to regain confidence in tricky, possibly wet conditions, with a brand-new chassis and no proper FP2 running to refine the setup.
Aston Martin’s Saturday will therefore be a split challenge: maximize Alonso’s potential while hoping Stroll can bounce back quickly after the crash.
