Oscar Piastri takes pole, Norris close behind, and Verstappen ready to fight: here’s the F1 Starting Grid at Zandvoort!
No surprises at the top: it’s still a McLaren 1-2, with Piastri and Norris leading the pack. Max Verstappen, the home favorite, starts third, while the standout performer of the day is Isack Hadjar, finishing fourth with the Faenza-based Racing Bulls.
Ferrari takes sixth and seventh with Leclerc and Hamilton, aiming for the podium, though it will be a tough challenge.
Qualifying Summary
As expected, Oscar Piastri delivered a masterpiece at Zandvoort, securing pole position by a razor-thin margin of just 0.012 seconds over Lando Norris. McLaren once again proves its qualifying dominance, locking out the front row. Max Verstappen will start third, 0.263 seconds behind. The big surprise came from Isack Hadjar, who achieved his career-best fourth place and secured an unexpected second row alongside the world champion.
Further down, George Russell and Charles Leclerc struggled to find the perfect lap in Q3, starting fifth and sixth. Lewis Hamilton, eighth, lost momentum after a strong Q2, while Liam Lawson managed an impressive lap between the Mercedes cars. Completing the top 10 are Spaniards Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso. Kimi Antonelli disappointed with eleventh.
