Amid the excitement of the Monza weekend, major news has arrived: the Monaco Grand Prix will remain on the Formula 1 calendar through 2035. A legendary chapter of motorsport, first written in 1929, is set to continue for at least another decade
During the Monza weekend – right here at home (click here for FP1 results) – an important announcement regarding the future of Formula 1 has been made official.
F1 shared the news via its official social media channels: the iconic Monaco Grand Prix has secured its place on the calendar for another 10 years, at least until 2035.
Long anticipated despite mounting criticism over recent editions of the race, the renewal of the Monte Carlo GP is now official. The thrill of racing through the tight streets of the Principality – especially in recent years with local hero Charles Leclerc on the grid – along with its unmatched heritage, will continue to captivate fans and drivers alike, reinforcing the legacy of this historic venue.

Since its inception in 1929 – an idea by Anthony Noghès (whose name graces one of the track’s most iconic corners) – the Monaco Grand Prix has been an integral part of motorsport history. The first official race was held on May 21, 1950, and to date, only four editions have been skipped (1951, 1953, 1954, and 2020).
Here are the words of Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali:
“The streets of Monaco have echoed with the roar of Formula 1 engines since the very beginning of our sport. It is therefore with great pleasure that I announce the extension of this extraordinary event until 2035. It is an iconic race, beloved by drivers and fans alike, with a truly unique atmosphere.”
