He’s the paddock’s star, but now he’s facing a very difficult moment: Roscoe, Lewis Hamilton’s dog, is currently in a coma.

Days of deep concern for the seven-time world champion, who shared an emotional message on social media about his beloved bulldog Roscoe, rushed to a veterinary hospital after once again contracting pneumonia.

According to the Ferrari driver (who skipped the Pirelli tests for this reason), Roscoe’s condition worsened in recent hours: he was struggling to breathe and had to be sedated for further checks. During the procedure, however, his heart stopped. Doctors managed to revive him, but Roscoe is now in a coma and the next few hours will be critical.

“Roscoe caught pneumonia again and was struggling to breathe. He was hospitalized and sedated to undergo tests, but during the process, his heart stopped. They managed to bring him back and now he’s in a coma. We don’t know if he will wake up. Tomorrow they will try to wake him up. I’m by his side and I thank you all for the prayers and support,” Hamilton wrote.

Roscoe, an English bulldog who became a true social media star thanks to his photos alongside the British champion, has been by Hamilton’s side for over ten years and is considered part of his family. In the past, the driver had already faced health scares with him, but never with such severity.

The memory also goes back to Coco, Hamilton’s other bulldog, who passed away in 2020. Since then, Roscoe has been his inseparable companion—always with him in the paddock, at press conferences, and even trackside, becoming a fan-favorite mascot.

The Formula 1 community and Hamilton’s fans have quickly and warmly rallied around the seven-time world champion, who is now enduring anxious hours as he waits to see if Roscoe will recover.
