The season will kick off in Brazil at the beginning of December 2025, before concluding with the traditional double-header in London.

Formula E is about to enter the longest season in its history: the final calendar for Season 12 features 17 races, one fewer than the 18 originally planned in the first draft released over the summer. The Jakarta E-Prix, which was supposed to fill one of the two TBC slots, will not take place.

As in the previous season, Season 12 will kick off in São Paulo on December 6, the only race to take place in 2025. The first new addition to the calendar is the Miami E-Prix, which this year will no longer be held at Homestead-Miami Speedway, but at the Miami International Autodrome, which also hosts the Formula 1 event.

The second new addition to the calendar is the Madrid E-Prix, which will take place at the Jarama circuit. The track already hosted the 2024 pre-season tests, replacing the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, which had been hit by a severe flood just days earlier.

Finally, the last new addition is the return of the Sanya E-Prix, which will take place on June 20, ahead of the Shanghai double-header, completing the Chinese triple-header. The Sanya round will be held on a revised layout compared to the last edition, which took place in 2019.

The locations for the sessions reserved for rookie drivers have also changed: Free Practice 0 will now take place in Miami, while the Rookie Test day is scheduled after the Madrid E-Prix, on March 22, 2026. This is a complete change from Season 11, when Free Practice 0 was held in Jeddah and the Rookie Test in Berlin.

Final Season 12 calendar revealed: Jean-Eric Vergne won the last edition of the Sanya E-Prix, held in 2019.

Alongside the calendar announcement, Formula E also confirmed regulatory changes. First, the use of Attack Mode has been modified: in races featuring the Pit Boost, drivers will be allowed only a single activation of the extra power, compared to the two available in “regular” races.

Finally, a change to the qualifying format was announced: each qualifying group will now have a 10-minute session, with the requirement to set a time in the first 6 minutes removed. Additionally, the intervals between duels have been shortened.

Maximilian Günther claimed victory in the Jeddah E-Prix, the first race in Formula E history to feature the Pit Boost.
