The young British talent from the Red Bull academy is ready for the big leap: DAZN España announces his arrival in Formula 1.
Twist in the Austin paddock: according to DAZN España, later confirmed by GPKingdom’s Spanish editorial team, Arvid Lindblad is set to race in Formula 1 with Racing Bulls. The official announcement is expected at the Mexican Grand Prix, with Liam Lawson reportedly leaving the category at the end of the season.
The news broke shortly after FP1 in Austin, catching many fans by surprise. While Lindblad was initially expected to debut in 2026, the move could come earlier than planned as Red Bull looks to fast-track the rise of its brightest young talent.
Who is Arvid Lindblad?
Born in London in 2007 to a British father and Indonesian mother, Arvid Lindblad is one of the most exciting prospects in the Red Bull Junior Team. After dominating international karting, he made his Formula 3 debut with Prema in 2024, showcasing remarkable speed and composure for his age.
Inside the Red Bull camp, Lindblad’s name has been circulating for months — seen by many as the “next Verstappen.” Helmut Marko has kept a close eye on him, praising his aggressive yet precise driving style and his ability to adapt quickly to any condition. At just 17 years old, Lindblad has become one of the most followed rising stars in junior single-seaters. His F1 promotion marks not only a huge step in his career but also a clear signal that Red Bull remains committed to nurturing young talent — in the footsteps of Vettel and Verstappen.
For Liam Lawson, however, this could mark the end of the road with Red Bull. Despite strong performances — including a stunning P3 in Baku qualifying — the New Zealander seems set to part ways with the team, and possibly with the entire Red Bull program.
