Pecco Bagnaia starts from pole position once again, just like in Motegi: here’s the full MotoGP starting grid for the Malaysian Grand Prix.
Sepang, Kuala Lumpur — The MotoGP grid hits the track for Round 20 of the season, though without one of its biggest names: Marc Márquez, sidelined by an injury that will keep him out for the rest of the year.
MotoGP Malaysia — Weekend Recap
Pecco Bagnaia will start from P1 for the Malaysian Grand Prix. The three-time world champion reaffirmed his dominance by taking pole position and winning Saturday’s Sprint, where he set an untouchable pace. Behind him, Alex Márquez and Pedro Acosta completed the Sprint podium — the latter promoted after Fermin Aldeguer was penalized.
It was a tough day for Marco Bezzecchi, who couldn’t find the right setup with his Aprilia and will have to fight his way through the pack after qualifying far back.
The big twist came after the Sprint: Aldeguer, initially third across the line, was handed an eight-second penalty for irregular tire pressure, dropping to eighth. The decision moved Acosta onto the podium, behind Bagnaia and Márquez. Honda continues to struggle, with Mir and Marini both crashing out.
MotoGP Penalties
At the moment, no riders have been penalized for the Grand Prix.
