After the horrific pre-race incident in the Moto3 class in Malaysia, Noah Dettwiler’s father breaks his silence. The young Swiss rider was involved in a collision with José Antonio Rueda during the formation lap, suffering serious injuries and currently hospitalized in Kuala Lumpur.

Who is Noah Dettwiler?

Born in Basel on 26 April 2005, Dettwiler began racing at just seven years old in the Swiss Supermoto Cup, quickly showing natural talent on two wheels.

After two years in the European Talent Cup, he progressed with three seasons in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup and two in the JuniorGP, building a solid reputation as a rising Swiss motorcycle talent known for speed, determination, and technical skill. In the 2025 Moto3 World Championship, Dettwiler has yet to score points, currently standing 32nd in the standings. Last year, he finished with 2 points in the championship.

Words from Dettwiler’s Father

Speaking to the Swiss newspaper Blick, Noah’s father shared the latest update:

“Noah was seriously injured in the accident. Fortunately, he is currently stable in the hospital, but it is too early to say he is out of danger. He suffered multiple cardiac arrests and lost a significant amount of blood. His spleen and lungs were affected, and he also has an open fracture in his leg.”

These statements underline the seriousness of his condition. Dettwiler, riding for CIP Green Power, collided with Rueda at over 100 km/h, was stabilized on track, and then airlifted to the nearest hospital, where he remains under intensive observation.
