Health issues for Carlos Sainz, who skipped Thursday’s press conference. Is Luke Browning ready to step in?
Unexpected trouble in the Williams camp, particularly concerning Carlos Sainz. The Spanish driver did not take part in the traditional Thursday media session due to a health problem.
According to Motorsport.com, the cause appears to be a mild illness — fortunately nothing serious. However, the former Ferrari and McLaren driver opted to miss the usual media commitments, and his participation in the weekend remains uncertain for now.
Sainz in doubt: is Browning set to step in?
With his medical condition still unclear (a formal statement from Williams is expected), Sainz’s presence is not fully guaranteed.
Despite this, the Spaniard shared the following message, even without attending Media Day:
“I can’t wait to drive in Brazil for what will be another sprint weekend. It’s an iconic track where anything can happen.”
Nevertheless, according to the latest reports, Sainz is expected to compete in São Paulo, starting from free practice. Should he be forced to withdraw at the last minute, reserve driver Luke Browning is ready to step in for the Grove-based team.
