Alba Larsen will replace Maya Weug, representing Scuderia Ferrari in the 2026 season: “Racing for Ferrari in F1 Academy is a dream come true.”

The grid that will take to the track next March at the Shanghai circuit for the fourth edition of F1 Academy is starting to take shape with the recent announcement of Alba Larsen’s renewal. The 2008-born driver made her debut in the category last season with the MP Motorsport team, supported by Tommy Hilfiger.

Having joined the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy in August 2025, Larsen will now continue her journey in the championship run by Susie Wolff, wearing the signature red of the Maranello team. Ferrari’s attention was firmly on her after she won the fourth edition of the FIA Girls on Track – Rising Stars programme, dedicated to promoting female talent in motorsport. The Danish driver’s presence will replace Maya Weug, who has now completed her two seasons in the programme.

Just a few weeks ago, the young driver wrapped up the third edition of the all-female championship after a more-than-encouraging rookie year, securing seventh place in the standings. Her standout results of the season were a fourth place in Race 2 at Shanghai and another fourth place in Race 2 at Las Vegas.

Racing for Ferrari in F1 Academy is a dream come true. They have been my favourite team ever since I was a child, and being able to wear red feels surreal and is an incredible honour. I’ve felt their support since the days of FIA Girls on Track, and now being part of the most iconic team in motorsport is a true honour. I’m ready to give everything for the Scuderia. Bet on red!Larsen said enthusiastically about representing the colours of the Prancing Horse.
