Williams Racing update

1:15 PM – This is how Williams communicated the status of Sargeant’s car repairs on their social media channels: “We are assessing the chassis but it currently looks okay. We will aim to repair and build up the chassis to be ready for Qualifying, however with the amount of work to be completed it will be difficult, but we’ll give it everything.”

The Incident Dynamics

After going on the throttle, Logan managed to get good traction and had no particular issues during the exit. However, he took the full curb and beyond, with two wheels off the track. At the end of the curb, there was grass, which, combined with the wet conditions in the Netherlands, led to a violent crash into the barriers.

The car caught fire, but Sargeant escaped uninjured. The barriers and safety nets for the mechanics proved vital, as they were at considerable risk due to the debris and the severity of the crash.
