Formula 1, together with the organizer of the Canadian Grand Prix, Octane Racing Group, has announced the reorganization of the Canadian event starting from 2026.
One of the stated goals of Formula One Management has always been achieving Net Zero by 2030. To contribute to this important and commendable commitment, starting from the 2026 season—an year marked by significant technical changes—it has been confirmed today, November 18, by the bodies involved in the organization that the Canadian Grand Prix will be moved to the third or fourth weekend of May, compared to the previous schedule, which had the event in early June. This change aimsto limit transatlantic travel and significantly reduce carbon emissions..
The race in Quebec is not the only one in the FOM calendar to be reorganized in the upcoming Formula 1 seasons; in fact, the Japanese Grand Prix has also been aligned with the racing weekends in the Asia region. Similarly, the Azerbaijan Grand Prix will no longer open the season from next year, but will instead take place in the autumn. Meanwhile, the Qatar Grand Prix has been rescheduled to align with the Abu Dhabi race at the end of the season. Furthermore, a few days ago, the renewal of the Monaco Grand Prix was announced, with the significant change of moving the Monaco weekend to the first week of June starting in 2026.
