Anticipation is building for the 2025 Formula 1 season, which will officially begin in two months, while the testing session for the new championship will take place at the end of February. It promises to be an exciting season with four teams fighting for the win, and, most notably, the arrival of Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari.

Jacques Villeneuve discussed the 2025 championship in an interesting interview with Action Network in recent days. Here are his words: “Given how the season ended, I would bet more on Lando and McLaren. But the problem will be the internal battle between the two drivers. McLaren hasn’t managed and won’t manage this situation well, and the two drivers will end up taking points away from each other. So, even though they should probably be the champions, they might not be.”

The former Williams driver then added: “But Lewis could have a chance. He finished strong. It will be an interesting battle between Lewis and Leclerc. As we can see from the media, Ferrari is pushing Lewis a lot right now. There’s a big image being built. If he performs, it’s great. And if not, then Leclerc will benefit. Essentially, it’s an advantage for Ferrari right now.”

Finally, he said: “Lando should be the natural contender for the championship. But with the internal battle and the fact that McLaren doesn’t seem to manage this rivalry very well, it could fall more into Lewis’s hands, given how Ferrari ended last season.”
