First rumors from “F1 in General” about the characteristics of the new car for Leclerc and Hamilton that will compete in the 2025 World Championship
These are hectic and historic days at Ferrari. Yesterday, Lewis Hamilton arrived in Maranello, complete with the iconic photo in front of Enzo Ferrari’s house and the customary visit inside the factory to familiarize himself with everything related to the Ferrari world.
It’s really happening, this is the common sentiment of every Ferrari fan, and tomorrow Sir Lewis will swap his elegant attire for the racing suit to drive the Ferrari for the first time (the SF-75). There will be a large crowd for Charles Leclerc as well, who is expected to take to the track in the afternoon.
The atmosphere is buzzing, and so is the engineering department, as the “Project 677” is now taking a well-defined shape that differs from the previous car, which performed well in the second half of last season. Therefore, the first details about the new Ferrari are beginning to emerge, starting with the color, which is expected to be darker than the previous two seasons.
In terms of technical updates, the most important change is a switch from a “Push-rod” suspension layout to a “Pull-rod” layout on the front axle. According to”F1 in General,” this change will allow for a cleaner airflow towards the sidepods and a lower center of gravity, as the suspension components will be positioned lower than in the previous Push-rod configuration. The “Pull-rod” solution at the rear has been revised to improve its operating window.
The 2025 car will feature a wider “undercut” to optimize airflow towards the experimental floor seen at the end of the 2024 season, which performed well with Charles Leclerc. The inlets towards the radiators are not expected to undergo major changes, but there will be some modifications to optimize cooling, an important detail. The Power Unit has also been revised to ensure better stability and efficiency compared to last season.
