Charles Leclerc and Frederic Vasseur shared their thoughts after day one at Fiorano: here’s what they said
Rain fell at Fiorano, but the dominant color was definitely red. A cheering crowd welcomed Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, Ferrari’s new driver lineup for 2025, during their first track day with the SF-23.
Charles Leclerc spoke to Ferrari’s official media: “The day you get back in the cockpit after the holidays is always very exciting. It was great to be back on track and see so many fans come out to watch us. Feeling and seeing all this enthusiasm around the team motivates us more than ever.
Overall, the day was positive, even though it rained a bit while I was driving. It was also great to see Lewis complete his first laps in a Ferrari—something very special for him and the entire team. I can’t wait to get back in the car next week and start working hard for the upcoming season.”
Frederic Vasseur, Team Principal of Scuderia Ferrari HP, added: “As with every year, the first time the team hits the track is a bit like the first day of school—it’s quite emotional, especially this year with Lewis making his debut with the team. Welcoming a new driver is always a significant moment. Today may have been less special for Charles, but it was great to see him in shape, relaxed, and eager to push again.
On the technical side, the drivers completed their laps in less-than-ideal weather conditions but managed to get back into rhythm and adapt to the track environment ahead of the first real test in Bahrain next month. It was also a useful warm-up for the whole team, which, in truth, was the day’s primary goal.”
