Carlos Sainz gave an interesting interview talking about his former team, and the Spaniard also discussed Albon.
On February 26, the three-day test session will begin at the Bahrain circuit, where the 10 Formula 1 teams will be testing in preparation for the start of the season (scheduled for March 16 in Melbourne). There are many new faces and lots of changes, starting with Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari.

Carlos Sainz, who has spent four years at Ferrari, talked about how Lewis Hamilton will approach the SF-25. These are the Spaniard’s words: “Who will come out on top? I don’t know, it all depends on how long it takes Lewis to adapt. I think every driver takes a different amount of time. For all of us who change teams, there’s a need for an adaptation period. It’s impossible to know what it will be for everyone: some drivers took a year, others five races, and others half a season. It depends on how long it takes to figure out where the last two tenths of a second of the car are.”
Sainz added: “I believe that when you get into any car, any F1 driver can be within two-tenths of a second from the car’s limit. But then, there are various adjustments to be made on the steering wheel, and the only way to get it right is to have one or two years of experience where you make mistakes and understand what’s not working. All of this comes only with experience.”
From his recent past to the present with Williams, Sainz shared his great connection with Alexander Albon. These are his words: “I’ve never seen a guy so genuine, so open, and so willing to make progress with the team and listen to me, tell me what he already knows about the team, the car, and share with me: ‘What do you think about this?’ and I respond, asking him many other questions.”
The former Ferrari driver added: “So far, we’ve had an incredible, super open relationship, and I think we both know that. If we want this team to become competitive again and fight for victories, we just have to push in the same direction. Maybe sacrificing some of our driver secrets or things you’d normally keep to yourself, sharing them to progress quickly.”
