Vasseur on the SF-25: “I don’t want to jump to conclusions, but in terms of reliability…”

With the second day of testing underway in Bahrain, it’s already time to draw some early conclusions for Ferrari. Here’s Fred Vasseur’s take on the SF-25

Testing in Bahrain is now in full swing (live on)! Today marks the second day of track action at Sakhir, and some key insights are already emerging. At the top, the battle seems to be extremely close between the four leading teams: McLaren (the clear favorite), Red Bull, Ferrari, and Mercedes—though the latter remains a question mark after its inconsistent performances in 2024.

Vasseur on the SF-25: “So far, so good. The point is working on reliability

Speaking about the Scuderia, team principal Fred Vasseur shared his thoughts last night: “ “So far, yes, everything is going well. The first priority is reliability, which is crucial at this stage of the season, and in this regard, we are in a good place. When it comes to performance, though, it’s difficult to make predictions—no one knows the fuel loads of other teams. Probably only Mercedes has an idea of Aston Martin’s and Williams’ levels. Making forecasts is really tricky; it’s much better to focus on our own data and work from there.” .”

Vasseur also commented on the upcoming season and the possibility of shifting focus to 2026: “It will be a challenge—probably the biggest of the year. Soon, we will get an initial picture of the competitive order, as we have five races in six weeks ahead. I believe the first results will influence the decisions we make. If you’re a second ahead or a second behind, it’s much easier to decide, but that’s completely unrealistic. We’ll be in the mix, and the field will be tightly packed, making the choice a tough one for sure“.
