Here are the results from F3 Free Practice in Australia: the season officially begins for the junior categories as well!

Ladies and gentlemen, the Melbourne track has officially been broken in! Formula 1 is back on track, and with it come the junior categories. Opening the action is Formula 3, with the young talents of the series kicking off the season with the first free practice session of the year.

10:36 PM – The session is coming to an end: Camara leads, followed by Tramnitz and Boya.

10:33 PM – Trouble for Sharp! His car is stopped on track: red flag, and the session is over.

10:31 PM – Several lock-ups, including from Wharton and Bilinski, but both manage to keep their cars on track.

10:22 PM – With 17 minutes to go, the top five feature two Trident and three Campos drivers: Camara leads, followed by Boya, Tsolov, Stromsted, and Inthraphuvasak. The Italian drivers are struggling, more focused on learning the track than setting fast times.

10:01 PM – Rodin off to a strong start, with Bilinski in P1 and Sharpe in P3. The two battle with Dufek from Hitech for the top spot, as track conditions continue to improve. Notably, there are four Italian drivers on track: Brando Badoer (13th), Nicola Marinangeli (14th), Nicola Lacorte (18th), and Nikita Bedrin (19th).

9:53 PM: GREEN FLAG – The session actually started with a 3-minute delay and under Virtual Safety Car conditions, as the FIA carried out some early technical tests. The track was still very low on grip.

Next session: Qualifying at 18:00 (UK time), which will determine who takes pole position for Sunday’s race (CLICK HERE for the full schedule and weekend weather forecast).
