Close call for two Italian riders during Moto3 pre-qualifying: Riccardo Rossi nearly took out his own teammate.
Friday action at Balaton Park has come to an end. The new Hungarian circuit challenged many riders across all categories. Amid surprises and disappointments, Team Snipers manager Mirko Cecchini can certainly be pleased with how the opening day unfolded.
Riccardo Rossi showed great adaptability this morning, finishing FP1 in 11th position. On the other side of the garage, Nicola Carraro initially struggled a bit more, but in the afternoon session he immediately showed promising pace during Practice.

However, right at the end of the session, the two riders nearly jeopardized their entire day: on the final lap, just after exiting Turn 1, Riccardo Rossi lost grip and crashed. A fall on a brand-new circuit is nothing unusual — if not for the fact that his bike began spinning and ended up in the middle of the track. Nicola Carraro, who was right behind him in the slipstream, only narrowly avoided hitting it.
Fortunately, no impact occurred, and both riders in yellow and black will go directly into Q2 in tomorrow’s qualifying.
